Our Azure Stack solution is based on TERRA 7000 G3 servers, which are validated and orchestrated with certified firmware and Azure Stack software updates.

Intel is a key part of this jointly developed solution. Azure Stack is an integrated system with preinstalled hardware and software. The basis is the new Intel® Xeon® Scalable platform. The Intel Xeon Scalable platform provides maximum agility in delivering apps and meeting all business needs. As a co-engineering partner, Intel takes over the validation and testing of the systems.

Microsoft Azure Stack is a hybrid cloud platform that enables you to deploy Azure services through your organization's data center. Microsoft Azure Stack opens up new possibilities for modern applications in common scenarios, such as edge environments and discrete environments, and helps meet specific security and compliance requirements.

Integrated TERRA for Microsoft Azure Stack Systems

The integrated Azure Stack solution is offered as part of a partnership between TERRA, Microsoft, and Intel. This creates a balanced solution with cloud-based innovations and reliable management. Thus, the platform provides just the right level of flexibility and control while delivering cloud-based innovation

The integrated Azure Stack solution currently has a size of four to twelve Azure Stack Hyperconverged Hosts. Support is provided jointly by TERRA, Intel and Microsoft. Each customer can decide whether Microsoft or Wortmann is their key point of contact and support.

All-flash next generation hardware with TERRA SERVER

TERRA SERVER 7120 G3

The extremely powerful server system is based on the new Intel® Xeon® Scalable platform and boasts an 8-core Intel XEON Silver processor and 64GB DDR4 RAM. As a hardware lifecycle host (HLH), the TERRA SERVER 7120G3 is integrated into the Azure Stack environment and serves as both a management host and a deployment host.

The entire installation of the Azure Stack is handled via the HLH. All settings, software patches, and firmware levels are checked from the beginning and made available for deployment. This ensures that the software and hardware are always up to date.

TERRA SERVER 7224 G3

The TERRA SERVER 7224 G3 ensures a lasting and stable environment. Equipped with the new Intel Xeon Scalable platform, each Azure Stack Host is based on at least 2 Intel Xeon Gold processors with 14 cores each.

The boot medium is Intel® SSD DC S3520 series. The scalable Azure Stack Host is extended by NVMe Cache Intel SSD DC P4600 drives with a capacity of 2TB in the Raid network. The all-flash storage can easily be upgraded to a maximum of 22 Intel SSD DC S3520 drives up to 35TB.

The first verified All-Flash Azure Stack

To deploy and manage a variety of Azure VMs, up to 768 GB DDR4 2666Mhz is used. Management and security are provided by Intel's TPM 2.0 and Intel® Remote Management Module (RMM).

To continue working during unplanned downtime without disruption while maintaining the same performance, the Azure Stack hardware is based on a Hyperconverged architecture, using Intel® Ethernet Network Connection OCP X527-DA2 10GB SFP + modules supporting RDMA and iWarp.
